PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speaker that can reduce a noise generated from a cylindrical case and enhance the sound quality so as to realize a reproduction sound closer to an original sound. SOLUTION: The speaker is provided with a speaker unit 1 having a diaphragm 15 and an electromechanical transducer 10 that transduces an audio signal into mechanical vibration of the diaphragm 15, a support rod 3 that supports the speaker unit 1 from its rear side, and a cylindrical case 2 that covers the rear side of the speaker unit 1 and the support rod 3. A vibration proof member 4 preventing delivery of vibration is placed between the speaker unit 1 and the cylindrical case 2 and between the support rod 3 and the cylindrical case 2 so as to suppress unnecessary vibration of the electromechanical transducer 10 attended with vibration of the diaphragm and the vibration proof member prevents delivery of the vibration among the cylindrical case 2, the speaker unit 1 and the support rod 3 so as to enhance the sound quality and realize a reproduction sound closer to the original sound.
