摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric material capable of reducing an electric resistance by promoting C plane orientation of a Bi2Te3 thermoelectric material and obtaining a high Seebeck coefficient with high homogeneity and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the thermoelectric material comprises the steps of first quenching to solidify a molten metal of a composition containing at least one type of element selected from the group consisting of Bi and Sb and at least one type of element selected from the group consisting of Te and Se by a liquid quenching method to manufacture a unidirectionally solidified thin piece or obtaining an ingot or its comminuted powder. The method further comprises the steps of then laminating this thin pieces, executing a plurality of times of extruding to shear the laminated thin pieces by using a die in which a pressurizing shaft and an extruding shaft are not uniaxially arranged to form a rhombohedral structure or executing a plurality of times of extruding to shear the ingot or its comminuted powder by using the die in which the pressurizing shaft and the extruding shaft are not uniaxially arranged to form the rhombohedral structure.
