SQUARE TYPE SEALED BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square type sealed battery capable of achieving high power by reducing the internal resistance per unit cell. SOLUTION: This square type sealed battery is constituted of a square battery jar 3 formed by connecting a plurality of rectangular parallelepiped battery jars 4 via barriers 5, conductive planar connecting bodies 16 constituting part of the barriers 5 between the battery jars 4 and 4, an electrode plate group 8 disposed in the respective battery jars 4, and electrolyte stored in the battery jars 4. Lead parts 9a and 9b of electrode plates of a positive electrode and a negative electrode constituting the electrode plate group 8 is directly connected to the planar connector 16 constituting the barrier 5 between the battery jars 4 and 4 so as to reduce the connection parts and shortened in the energization passage, thereby reducing the internal resistance.
