PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever-type connector for protecting a tongue member and a receiving member from being damaged. SOLUTION: When a lever 20 is being turned, until a female housing 11 and a male housing 12 are fitted regularly to each other, the tongue member 24 provided on the lever 20 is put in engagement with the receiving member 25 provided on the female housing 11. When the tongue member 24 is put in disengagement from the receiving member 25 by deforming the lever 20 to be curved for disengagement, the receiving member 25, which is formed in a shape similar to that of the tongue member 24 deformed to be curved is put in disengagement from the tongue member 24, while maintaining an almost uniform hitching allowance in the longitudinal direction. Therefore, the deformation or scrape-off of the tongue member 24 is prevented, while restricting the concentration of excess operating load on one portion of the tongue member 24.
