PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the adverse effect of vibration on a magnetic head by eliminating the backlash of a skew stage so as to improve rotational center accuracy or rigidity. SOLUTION: The disk characteristic evaluating device 1 includes a head clamp 29 freely attachably and detachably provided on a head loader 31 to position a magnetic head 27 on a magnetic disk 17. A skew shaft 57 is supported on the head loader 31 in the state of being extended up and down, and a fan- shaped skew angle swing member 63 is provided on the skew shaft 57. A skew angle driving rotor 65 is provided in a position near the fan-shaped outer peripheral surface of the skew angle driving rotor 65 so as to be rotary-driven. Ends of two tension belts are fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the skew angle driving rotor 65, the two tension belts are wound on the outer peripheral surface of the skew angle driving rotor 65 in opposing directions, passed through fan- shaped outer peripheral surface of the skew angle swing member 63, and then tensed and fixed.
