PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating condition setting method in a distributed environment and a system using this with easy management of an operating condition and no OS dependence. SOLUTION: In the operating condition setting method in the distributed environment, an operating condition file described by an open-ended markup language form is managed by a server, and distributed computers acquire the operating condition file by using a hypertext transfer protocol and set operating conditions on the basis of contents of the acquired operating condition file.
