PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user using a computer connected to a network to select a partner immediately and simply on the spot, or to select shared information, and to retrieve and utilize freely the shared information. SOLUTION: Optional information stored in each storage device 3a, 3b, 3c of computers 10, 20, 30 connected to the network 40 is stored in information sharing folders 6a, 6b, 6c set in the storage devices of each computer in the unit of a file or a record as shared information. Concerning the shared information, each item such as a user's name to be provided, a user's name to be referred, an electronic mail address name or the like is stored as information sharing definition tables 7a, 7b, 7c in each storage device, and respective buttons corresponding by 1 to 1 to each shared information are generated automatically as inherent operation buttons in each computer based on the information sharing definition tables.
