PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery of high output and long life. SOLUTION: Lithium manganate satisfying that a Li/Mn composition ratio is 0.55 to 0.60, and the variation of half-value width of a main diffraction line by X-ray diffraction under a charging condition of 0% to 100%, is 25% or more is used as a positive electrode active material, and amorphous carbon is used in a negative electrode active material. As the spinel crystallinity of lithium manganate is impaired, lithium ion can be easily inserted and eliminated in charging and discharging. Further the binding force of Mn-O is increased, and an amount of elution of manganese in charging and discharging can be reduced. |
