METHOD OF EVALUATING VISUAL ENVIRONMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of evaluating a visual environment capable of evaluating a visual environment in a manner close to recognition by a human viewing field. SOLUTION: The method includes a digital image introduction means and a digital image analysis means. Images introduced by the introduction means are subjected to contrast measurements and frequency component analysis by the analysis means so as to determine the condition of a visual environment while taking ambient optical conditions such as ambient brightness into account to allow evaluation of the visual environment in a manner close to human recognition. The use of digital images allows significant simplification in terms of devices and facilitates processes.
