PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image management system, a medical image distribution method and a computer readable recording medium which can secure security, reduce the load of maintenance or the like and produce large convenience for the management of a hospital. SOLUTION: In the medical image management system allowed to be connected to other computers through communication lines, a network server 1 is provided with 'an ASP function' capable of distributing medical image data through the communication lines and distributing also medical image viewer software capable of displaying medical images.
