PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor having a built-in liquid crystal, which can contribute to simplification of the fixing process of a liquid crystal shutter holder and to rationalization of the manufacturing process. SOLUTION: In the optical sensor having a built-in liquid crystal, the pin 2 of the liquid crystal shutter holder 1 is constituted of an elastic body such as silicon rubber. The tip is larger than the inner diameter of a through hole 4 formed on a substrate 3 and it is inserted into the substrate 3. Since the expanding part of the pin 2 has snap fit structure where it is fixed at the periphery of the through whole 4 of the substrate, the holder can be fixed only by inserting the pin 2 into an engaging it with the through hole 4 of the substrate 3, a facility and a jig for improving productivity and heat calking become unnecessary and manufacturing cost can be reduced. Then, a liquid crystal drive circuit and the like are taken onto the holder 1 and the whole structure of the substrate can be miniaturized by using the holder 1 which is a circuit- formed, for example.
