The tubes (3) of heat exchangers (2) are cleaned by the insertion of long hollow rods (4) fitted with nozzles (5) which are used to spray liquid at a pressure of 500 bars. The rods (4) are supported by four sets of rollers mounted on a platform (8) outside the heat exchanger. When cleaning a row of tubes (3), a set of rods (4) can be supported on corresponding numbers of rollers mounted on common spindles.
