PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small appearance input device for performing cursor movement, page scroll or function selection on a display of a hand-held computer. SOLUTION: Joy sticks (402, 940) used to move a cursor on the display includes a movable slide button in which a first magnet M1 is embedded. The button is slid on a second magnet M2 by the finger of a user. This deforms magnetic flux 418, and the deformation is detected by a plurality of flux sensors 420. The direction and magnitude of cursor movement on the display correspond to a flux change caused by the movement of the slide button.
