PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life control valve type lead-acid battery having superior high-efficiency discharge characteristics. SOLUTION: A positive electrode plate 1 is provided with U-shaped separators 3 in its both surfaces, separator welding parts 8 are formed in the separator 3 by heat welding, and the separator welding parts 8 are machined thinner compared with the thicknesses of other parts. The bottom surface part of the positive electrode plate 1 is stacked thereto in an abutted state on the separator welding part 8 so that the control valve lead-acid battery is manufactured.
