PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed an original to the image reading position of an image reader for reading the original so as not to cause original image blurring. SOLUTION: An original feeder 2 is provided with an introduction path 7 for guiding the original to the image reading position 8 where the image of the original is read, an ejection feeding roller pair 10 for receiving the original that has been read at the image reading position on the downstream side of the image reading position and ejecting the original obliquely upward, and an original pressing part 24 projecting toward the image reading position at the downstream end of an original guide. The original pressing part 24 receives the rear face of the original introduced to the image reading position so as to guide the original along the image reading position.
