PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery capable of increasing the capacity of the battery by suppressing polarization without lowering energy density and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery 1 is assembled by using a positive electrode plate 10 haying nickel powders in a positive electrode active material layer 13. Then, the battery 1 is charged. The nickel powders held in the positive electrode active material layer 13 become nickel ions by electrolytic reaction to be dissolved in electrolyte and deposited on a negative electrode active material layer 23. This arrangement can provide the lithium ion secondary battery 1 having nickel highly efficiently deposited on a part having electrochemical activity on the negative electrode active material layer 23, namely, a part involved in the charge/discharge. The discharge capacity can be thus efficiently increased by the necessary minimum nickel deposit quantity. |
