PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily stabilize the output of a laser diode in terms of temperature in the region of a medium time constant by improving a method of exposing recording medium using laser diode. SOLUTION: In a method of stabilizing the laser diode of a recorder in terms of temperature, a light beam (3) is formed by means of the laser diode and the laser diode is modulated by superimposing a base current (IB) and a modulated current (LM) upon another. Then a recording medium (1) is exposed with a modulated light beam (3) at every point and line. In addition, the light beam (3) is guided to the starting point of the next line during flyback time (11) which is provided between the exposure time (10) of one line and the exposure time (10) of the next line. In the method, the laser diode is modulated within the flyback time (11).
