PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the diffusion of launched Cesium (Cs) atoms in the horizontal direction to improve an S/N ratio of a spectrum in a collimation apparatus for Cs atomic fountain for trapping and cooling the atoms by a plurality of laser beams and detecting the passing of the launched Cs atoms through a micro wave resonator. SOLUTION: A means for irradiating the Cs atoms with a collimation laser beam having a frequency close to the frequency of the Cs atoms is provided in parallel to an atomic waveguide in the direction of launching. A means for stopping the irradiation of the collimator laser beam after generating the beam for a prescribed time is provided to suppress the diffusion of the Cs atoms in the horizontal direction by a bi-polar force in the magnetic field of the collimation laser beam.
