PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching regulator wherein a current passed through MOS transistors is increased even if each transistor has the same size, and thus the efficiency of power conversion is improved. SOLUTION: The switching regulator is provided with at least a MOS transistor for switching an input voltage, a conversion circuit that converts the switched input voltage into a specified output voltage, a reference voltage circuit, and a control circuit that compares the output voltage with a reference voltage generated by the reference voltage circuit and controls an on-time of the MOS transistor, according to the result of the comparison. The MOS transistor for switching and a MOS transistor that forms the reference voltage circuit and the control circuit are formed on one and the same P-type semiconductor substrate 11. The MOS transistor for switching is formed in a P-type well 23 formed in an N-type well 22 formed on the P-type semiconductor substrate 11.
