PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head device which is adaptive without increasing the cost to the case where the axel-to-axle distance of a pair of guiding shafts arranged in approximately parallel with each other is different, and to provide a method for manufacturing the optical head device. SOLUTION: The upper arm part 301 and lower arm part 302 of a second bearing 300 which engages with the guiding shaft are both formed in a sufficiently long dimension in the frame 3 of the optical head device 1. Thus, the guiding shaft 2B is engaged with the bottom part of the upper arm part 301 and of the lower arm part 302 when the guiding shaft 2B is located at a position which is closer to the main body 30 of the frame, on the other hand, the guiding shaft 2B is engaged with the front end part of the upper arm part 301 and of the lower arm part 302 when the guiding shaft 2B is located at a position which is remote from the main body 30 of the frame.
