PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the charging characteristic under a high temperature environment and to stably obtain the sufficient discharge capacity in an alkaline battery using a sintered nickel electrode for the alkaline battery manufactured by filling nickel hydroxide as an active material in a porous sintered board, as a positive electrode. SOLUTION: In this sintered nickel pole 1 for the alkaline battery manufactured by filling nickel hydroxide as the active material in the porous sintered board, tungstic acid is allowed to exist on a surface of nickel hydroxide as the active material, and this sintered nickel pole for the alkaline battery is used as the positive electrode of the alkaline battery.
