PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron beam forming device for a cathode-ray tube capable of improving resolution of an image. SOLUTION: A control grid G1 (112) is adjacently positioned to a cathode 110 of an electron gun, a focus electrode G3 (120) is adjacently installed to one side part of the control grid G1 (112), and a screen grid G2 (114) is installed between the control grid G1 (112) and the focus electrode G3 (120). Electrons pass through the control grid G1 (112), the focus electrode G3 (120), and the screen grid G2 (114) in order. In the screen grid G2 (114), a divergent lens of an electron beam is formed at a low voltage side part in the direction of the control grid G1 (112), and a focus lens of a large diameter is formed on the high voltage side in the direction of the focus electrode G3 (120).
