PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture transfer system for effectively transmitting a picture photographed in a home during absence of a user from home to the user at a remote location at an appropriate time. SOLUTION: The picture transfer system is constituted of a personal computer 1, a camera 2 and a PDA terminal 5. The personal compute 1 and the camera 2 are connected by radio communication. The personal computer 1 and the PDA terminal 5 are connected through a network. When the PDA terminal 5 is positioned in the radio service area of a base station 4 to be stored in a public line network 3, communication via the public line network 3 and the base station 4 is performed. When any change is recognized in the object area of the camera 2, moving pictures photographed by all cameras 2 are started to be transmitted to the personal computer 1. They are synchronized in time and are transmitted to the PDA terminal 5 which the user carries from the personal computer 1.
