PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pseudo engine-sound control device that makes an ambient sound easily caught in an environment requiring a particular caution while running. SOLUTION: The device comprises a drive environment detecting means that detects a drive environment of an electric automobile, a pseudo-sound generating means that generates a pseudo engine sound approximate to an engine sound of a gasoline automobile and a sound volume control means that controls the volume of the pseudo engine sound generated by the pseudo-sound generating means based on the drive environment detected by the drive environment detecting means. For example, when the electric automobile positions near a guide point guided by a navigation system, an urban area, a railroad crossing road and the like, the volume of the pseudo engine sound is reduced or eliminated, so that the ambient sound can be cautiously caught.
