PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the rate of degradation in picture quality due to a variety of image processes by detecting and correcting dirt and flaws on the surface of a film without increasing the number of components constituting a scanner device. SOLUTION: An image processing system using a multipoint range-finding camera includes a means for inputting the range-finding information of images taken with the multipoint range-finding camera; a means for estimating the boundary of the area of each subject of photography on a photographic screen according to the continuity of the range-finding information to carry out area division; a means for estimating the photographic distance and direction of each subject of photography according to the range-finding information; a means for calculating, on the photographic screen, the distance of each point on the screen from the boundary of the area of each subject; and a means for varying the contents of an image process or the strength of the process according to the photographic distance or direction of each subject or to the distance from the boundary of the area of each subject on the screen. |
