PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle renting system which informs a user of the use state of a proper vehicle when the user is to ride directly on a shared vehicle which is parked inside a port. SOLUTION: When the user holds an IC card up, the shared vehicle 2 sends the card ID to a reservation management center 1 together with a vehicle ID. The reservation management center 1 decides whether the card ID is valid by referring to a customer management database 14. If the card ID is invalid, a message 'The card is invalid.' is set. Then the number of contracts is decided and it is decided whether the number of used vehicles is larger than the number of contracts with users. When the number of all used vehicles is larger, a message 'The number of the contracts is exceeded.' is set. If trouble occurs in the use of a shared vehicle, the reservation management center 1 retrieves the portable telephone number of the user from the customer management database 14, and the set messages are e-mailed to the portable telephone set 3 of the user. |
