METHOD FOR DISTRIBUTING CALL TO NEAREST TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for distributing a call to a nearest terminal by which a called terminal located nearest to a caller terminal in a called terminal group that is to be a target is automatically searched and the call from the caller terminal is brought to the nearest terminal. SOLUTION: In a communication system where a database 2 storing position information of communication terminals and a position information management function 1 conducting management and retrieval of the database 2 are placed inside or outside of a communication network containing the communication terminals such as mobile terminals and fixed terminals, when a caller terminal 7 transmits a special number to instruct retrieval of position information of a called terminal nearest to the caller terminal 7 and input information of a called number to designate a called terminal group, the communication network transfers the called number to the position information management function 1, the position information management function 1 retrieves the database on the basis of the called number, selects the nearest called terminal to the caller terminal 7 in the called terminal group that is the called terminal object, returns the terminal number of the selected called terminal to the communication network and brings the call to the called terminal 8 with the terminal number through the communication network.
