EXCHANGE CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR DSL TERMINAL, AND EXCHANGE CONNECTION METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate cost increase imposed on a user. SOLUTION: An IAD 1 is interposed in a DSL 5 that interconnects an exchange 3 with DSL subscriber terminals 2-n. The exchange 3 is provided with a VMG 4 that terminates ATM cells multiplexed on the DSL 5. The exchange 3 directly terminates voice packets that are multiplexed and sent on the DSL 5 and converts the voice packet into data able to be processed by an existing exchange interface 8 so as to directly contain the DSL subscribers to the exchange 3 and the exchange software program operating the exchange 3 can conduct call processing control without notifying devices under the control of a subscriber control section. As a result, much load is not imposed on the user.
