PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device excellent in reproducing gradation linearity in every different density region. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a block division means for dividing input image data into a number of blocks, and a number of different conversion characteristic tables which convert the input image data into density level signals to carry out the dot recording. Each conversion characteristic table is provided with a number of regions of increasing characteristic region in which the dot size is increased and a number of nonincreasing characteristic region in which the dot size is not increased.
