PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light emitting luminance, and lengthen the service life in an organic EL element. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescence element has a structure of successively laminating an anode layer 10, a light emitting area 12, an electron injection area 14, and a cathode layer 16. A glass transition point of the electron injection area is set to a value of 100 deg.C or more. The electron injection are includes an aromatic compound including no nitrogen atom and reducing dopant expressed by M+Ar- (here, M represents alkaline metal, and Ar represents a nonsubstituted or substituted aromatic ring compound having the carbon number of 10 to 40). Electron affinity of the electron injection area is set to a range of 1.8 to 3.6 eV.
