PURPOSE: A shift controlling method of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to prevent shift shock by smoothly changing a gear and to feed back control through a transmission control unit. CONSTITUTION: A shift controlling method of an automatic transmission in a vehicle comprises a first state(20) checking down shift signal from 4 to three speed; a second signal(22) checking the down shift signal from 3 to 2 speed; third stage(24) holding the down shift operation from the 3 to 2 speed; and a fourth stage(26) changing a gear from the 3 to 2 speed after passing specific time. A shift controlling system of the automatic transmission in the vehicle comprises a rear clutch forming a planetary gear; a kick down brake operated on 2 speed; front clutch actuated in the 3 speed with the rear clutch; an end clutch operated in the 4 speed; a transmission control unit receiving travelling state of an engine; and a shift control solenoid valve operating a shift control valve.
