The air heater has a fan coupled to a cylindrical air feed tube (2) for the hot air, containing at least one ribbed heating pipe (3) through which a heating medium is passed, aligned with the center axis of the air feed tube. The heating medium is passed through the heating pipe in opposition to the flow direction of the hot air through the air feed tube and regulated by a thermostat (8), the cross-section of the air feed tube essentially filled by the ribbed heating pipe.
