PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which the cause of erroneous detection of abnormalities can easily be investigated when the abnormalities due to electrical noise are detected in a constitutional means, and to provide its control method and its program. SOLUTION: In decision processing, the comparison test between the output signal SRm of a transfer paper detector Rm (1<=m<=n) 11 and 12 in prescribed timing and the output signal PRm of a parallel I/F 10 is performed, and a flag FRm indicating whether or not the PRm and the SRm of the last decision processing were coincident is checked. When the PRm and the SRm are coincident at prescribed timing, and when a flag FRm indicates that the PRm and the SRm were coincident in the last decision processing, it is decided that there is a change in an abnormal signal level, and the prescribed timing when the abnormalities were confirmed and the size of transfer paper at that time are stored into an NVRAM 4, and are presented to a user on a display part 9. |
