PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that an oxygen sensor formed by sintering a platinum electrode simultaneously together with a zirconia solid electrolyte base is poorly responsive to gas. SOLUTION: The oxygen sensor 1 has the pair of porous platinum electrodes of a measuring electrode 4 and a reference electrode 3 formed to at least opposite faces of an inner and an outer faces of the zirconia solid electrolyte base 2. In the oxygen sensor 1, a binding energy of Pt obtained from a Pt4f narrow spectrum of the platinum electrode by the photoelectron spectrometry is not larger than 72.5 eV. Particularly, the oxygen sensor 1 has zirconia contained in the platinum electrode, is formed by simultaneously baking the zirconia solid electrolyte base 2 and the platinum electrode and further united with a ceramic insulating layer 6 with a platinum heater built therein. |
