PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imagin unit which optimizes both the focusing of and exposure to main object, even when the main object is not in the center of a picture plane. SOLUTION: This unit is provided with an imaging means which picks up an object image, a means which weights the luminance level of the image signal outputted by the imaging means, according to information regarding object distances at a plurality of predetermined positions on the image plane and information on a position to be focused on among the positions, and an exposure control means which performs exposure control according to the luminance level weighted by the weighting means. |
