PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch which can adjust the traveling direction of an optical signal by heating a liquid with a laser heating apparatus and moving the liquid. SOLUTION: The optical switch includes substrates 10, optical waveguides 15 which are arranged on the substrate in the shape of a matrix so that the optical signal is transmitted and have at least one or more intersecting points 15a, cells 25 which are arranged on the intersecting points of the optical waveguides and contain a liquid in the inside, and a laser heating apparatus 40 which is provided with lasers 30 corresponding to each cell and can selectively heat the liquid. By adopting this configuration, the optical switch is easily manufactured, and can be used by exchanging the laser heating apparatus. |
