PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress scattering of multiplex color toner where scattering of toner is conspicuous by detecting a color image inclined to cause scattering of toner based on inputted image data and controlling the quantity of toner in units of pixel. SOLUTION: The color imaging apparatus for forming an image of a plurality of colors of toner fixed onto a recording medium based on image data representative of a color image comprises means for detecting a diagram area on a color image based on the image data and detecting a high pile height pixel having such a pixel value as a pile height determined by accumulation of a plurality of colors of toner has a specified height or above in the diagram area, and an exposing means for forming an electrostatic latent image of a high pile height pixel thus detected by lowering the quantity of exposing light such that the pile height becomes lower than that based on the image data. |
