PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position system for controlling an elevator. SOLUTION: A code rail including optically recognizable information is fitted perpendicular to the inside of a hoistway adjacent to a perpendicular moving route of an elevator car 10. Optical sensors 19 and 20 are fitted to the elevator car 10, and moved together therewith. The optical sensors 19 and 20 are located at the position capable of optically reading a marker of the code rail related to the hoistway, and the information is supplied to a controller 30 of the elevator car. |
