PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous manufacturing method capable of manufacturing a (meth)acrylic ester derivative containing a lactone ring effectively in high yield. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a (meth)acrylic ester derivative containing a lactone ring comprises the following processes: (A) a process in which a hydroxyadamantanone of formula (1) (wherein, the hydroxy group is linked to the bridge head site of the adamantane ring) is made to react with (meth)acrylic acid or its reactive derivative to obtain a (meth)acrylic ester derivative of formula (2) (where, R is H or methyl, and the (meth)acryloyloxy group in the formula is linked to the bridge head site of the adamantane ring), and (B) a process where the ester derivative of the formula (2) obtained in the previous process is made to react with an organic hyperacid to obtain a (meth)acrylic ester derivative having a lactone ring of formula (3) (wherein, R is H or methyl; and the (meth)acryloyloxy group in the formula is linked to the bridge head site of the adamantane ring).
