PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analysis system and an analysis method wherein an erroneous positioning operation is prevented and a user can perceive an error. SOLUTION: In the analysis system and the analysis method, a position control unit which checks whether the analysis area of a test element is positioned correctly in relation to an analysis unit is provided additionally, the position control unit is composed of a light source used to irradiate the analytical area of the test element, a detector used to detect light reflected from the area and an evaluation unit, the light source and the detector are positioned in relation to each other in such a way that the light intensity of emitted light specularly reflected at the detector is different according to whether the test element is positioned accurately or whether the test element is positioned inaccurately, and the evolution unit recognizes all erroneous positioning operations on the basis of the light intensity in the detector.
