PURPOSE: To provide a display device in which high precision- and high-speed moving picture display is possible. CONSTITUTION: An image display system has an image display device and a controller. The controller has a block discriminating circuit part, an image processing part, a storage part, and a synchronous signal generating part. The block discriminating circuit part discriminates moving pictures and still pictures, and changes processing of the image information according to the discrimination result. The gray scale of the image information processed when the discrimination result indicates that the information stands for a moving image is made lower than the gray scale of the image information processed when the discrimination result indicates the information stands for a still picture. This process reduces information that is recognized only poorly by human beings, and the high precision image display and the high-speed moving picture display can substantially be performed. |
