摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emission light source device for an optical encoder capable of being still more reduced in size and thickness and enabling detection with higher accuracy. SOLUTION: The emission light source device for the optical encoder is equipped with the light emitting element chip 23 which is mounted on a lead frame 22 so as to have a light emitting surface in the direction crossing the surface of the optical lattice 13 of a scale 11 almost at right angles and crossing the direction of the optical lattice almost at right angles, and a transparent resin body 24 molded so as to seal the light emitting element chip along with the lead frame. A first optical element 25, which reflects the light from the light emitting element chip in the direction almost parallel to the surface of the optical lattice and crossing the direction of the optical lattice at a right angle is arranged at the end surface opposed to the light emitting surface of the light emitting element chip of the transparent resin body 24; and a second optical element 26, which reflects the parallel light from the first optical element to irradiate the predetermined range in the direction of the optical lattice while throttling the same in the direction of the optical lattice, is arranged at the end surface on the side opposite to the light emitting surface of the light emitting element chip.
