PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat transfer pipe for a heat exchanger excellent in heat resistance and corrosion resistance for high temperature gas including highly corrosive halogen gas mainly exhausted from an incinerator, particularly of 1000 deg.C or higher, suitable for recovering heat and usable for a long period. SOLUTION: The heat transfer pipe for the heat exchanger is composed of Si-SiC composite material in which the content of SiC is 40 to 70 volume %.
