PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of easily estimating a hot water storage amount in a container according to the sensing of a water supply amount and a hot water outputting time. SOLUTION: The water heater comprises a heating unit 4 having a heating container 6 for heating water, a water amount sensor 11 for sensing a water supply amount to a water supply route for supplying the water from a water service tube 1 to the container 6, a pump 15 for pumping upward hot water in the container 6, a hot water output predicting means 23 for obtaining a hot water output amount according to a drive time of the pump 15, and a hot water storage estimating means 24 for estimating a hot water storage amount in the container 6 according to a difference of a sensing amount between the sensor 11 and the means 23.
