PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality ferrite effectively, by the procedure in which a solution of given mixed metal chlorides whose vapor pressure is low is roasted to give corresponding oxides by oxidation and the oxides are further mixed with metal oxides whose vapor pressure (as the chloride) is high and then sintered. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a given molal ratio of metal chlorides whose vapor pressure is low, e.g., a mixture of FeCl2 and one or more of MnCl2, MgCl2, and NiCl2, is roasted to provide metal oxides by oxidation. Then, the metal oxides thus obtained are further mixed with other metal oxides whose vapor pressure (as the chloride) is high, e.g., CuO and ZnO, preferably, in an given proportion and then sintered. The roasting is preferably performed in a furnace of an oxygen-containing atmosphere after the drying of the mixed metal chlorides solution. Also, when CuO, etc., is added, a carbonate, e.g., CaCO3, BaCO3, etc., may be jointly added if needed. |
