METHOD FOR REMOVING FOREIGN MATTER FROM COLOR FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing a foreign matter from a color filter capable of correcting a coloring layer with no bulky rising of a coating material for correction and no generation of projection and recession even when a hole for removing the foreign matter to remove the foreign matter together with a color filter layer such as the coloring layer is formed and subsequently the coating material for correction of the coloring layer or the like is applied to infill the hole and to reproduce the coloring layer or the like. SOLUTION: The method for removing the foreign matter from the color filter having the color filter layer containing at least a coloring layer on a transparent substrate is provided and is characterized by having at least a detecting step to detect the foreign matter existing in the color filter layer or on its surface and a foreign matter removing step by means of formation of the hole for removing the foreign matter with a side wall formed so as to expand from the transparent substrate side toward the surface side of the color filter layer at the part of the color filter layer corresponding to the position where the foreign matter is detected.
