PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection-type display device which is capable of effectively preventing the formation of unintended parasitic capacitors by the reflection electrodes remaining uncut and the occurrence of shorting between pixels and, to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: This display device is formed with a gate wiring 1, a drain wiring 2 and thin-film transistors(TFTs) 3 on a TFT side substrate 5, and has at least first insulating films 16 disposed irregularly thereon, second insulation films 17 covering the first insulation films and reflection electrodes 18 formed on the uneven curvilinear surfaces by these insulating films. The ends of the second insulating films 17 are so formed as to be separated by prescribed distances from the positions, where the first insulating films 16 are arranged in the end regions of the TFT side substrate on the outer side of a display region or contact parts 19 between the reflection electrodes 18 and the source electrodes 15. The film thickness of the second insulation films 17 is so set as to be smaller than the prescribed value, by which the level differences produced by the first insulation films 16 and the second insulation films 17 are relieved and the occurrence of the remaining of the resist and the reflection electrodes remaining uncut is prevented. |
