<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying device of internal combustion engine that can make certain of removing extraneous absorbent and have increasing durability without particular control to switch over the flow channel of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: This gas purifying device is equipped with a flow channel switching unit 9 to switch exhaust gas channel either to a main exhaust gas channel 13 or to a by-pass exhaust gas channel 14, a HC absorbent 16, which is installed in the main exhaust gas channel 13, to absorb unburnt combustible content in the exhaust gas led to the main exhaust channel 13 and to separate absorbed unburnt combustible content, and a control measure 21 to control a flow channel switching unit 9 that switches the exhaust gas channel to a main exhaust gas channel 13 in order to absorb unburnt combustible content in the exhaust gas into the HC absorbent 16, switches the exhaust gas channel to the by-pass exhaust gas channel 14 in order to separate unburnt combustible content absorbed from the HC absorbent 16, and switches the exhaust gas channel to a main exhaust gas channel 13 when the separation of unburnt combustible content from the HC absorbent 16 has completed.</p> |
