<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unevenness of density in the output image from an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an exposure unit 3 comprising an array of light emitting elements, e.g. LEDs, and an array of focusing elements, e.g. rod lenses, and an image carrier (photosensitive body) 1 being exposed by the exposure unit 3 to form an image. Image characteristic values among a plurality of light emitting elements are measured for an output image obtained through the image carrier 1 and compared with each other and then correction is effected based on the comparison results such that unevenness of density can not be recognized over the entire effective image area. Correction is effected by controlling the driving current of each light emitting element thereby controlling light emission thereof.</p> |
