PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air amount adjusting device capable of optimum air supply when a combustion amount is varied or upon firing. SOLUTION: An air amount adjusting device 5a is adapted such that it is disposed between a combustion section 7 where a flame of a combustion apparatus 1 is produced and an air fan 2 for sending air for controlling an opening area of an air passage extending from the air fan 2 to the combustion section 7 to adjust an air amount supplied to the combustion section 7. In the device, when the combustion amount required by the combustion section 7, there are discriminated the case where the width of variations of the combustion amount is more than a predetermined value and the case where the same is less than the predetermined value, and the number of revolutions of the air fan 2 and the opening area of the air flow passage are rendered to transient control by a predetermined time.
